Sundays

Welcome to EPIC.

Our worship gatherings have been online since March 2020. You can find us live on our website at 10am (MDT) every single Sunday, for one hour of sung worship, communion, kids feature, and teaching. We love to celebrate Jesus together, even virtually!

Amazingly we were able to pivot to an online worship gathering when the pandemic began and still be ‘recognizably Epic’ in such a different context. While we’d all prefer to gather in person, we’re still hearing from lots of different voices, prioritizing kids participation in our gatherings, experiencing heart worship, keeping the Table of Jesus central to our gathering, and leaning into the Holy Spirit to shape us as we grow as Christ’s disciples.

“Church is not the Sunday gathering. Rather, we are God’s people journeying together as signposts of Christ’s kingdom at work in the world”.

And We Keep Growing.

Many people have discovered us online during the pandemic and found their church home. It’s been especially fun to eventually meet new folks in person at a backyard firepit, or on a walk, or at a special event and discover they look ‘the same, but different’ than on zoom!

Folks local to Calgary who belong to our church receive a zoom link each week to join for coffee time a half hour before the worship gathering begins, and they jump on the same link afterward for ministry time. This is our chance to respond to the Holy Spirit by sharing with one another and leaning into prayer.

Gathering Again.

When we are able to resume gathering in person again, you’ll find us downtown in the Beltline, meeting in the JLYS Family Centre on 15th Ave & 2nd, 4 blocks west of the Saddledome.  Free parking is available on Sundays in the lot opposite the church building between 15th & 17th Ave.

Normally the first Sunday of the month is a potluck brunch, known to us as Feast Sunday. We eat, pray, hear a reflection and celebrate communion. All our other Sundays start with real good coffee (honest!), followed by sung worship, communion, teaching and prayer.

Kids have their own learning time after sung worship and communion with the rest of us. You can learn more about Epic Kids here!
