Welcome to EPIC.
Through the first two years of the pandemic we were online, and now we’re slowly emerging into “in person” gatherings. We lost our Sunday gathering space during the pandemic, and continue to look for a facility that will accommodate the size of our growing congregation and our many children! With our HUB (Monday to Saturday church community centre) opened in Tuxedo Park at the end of 2021 we’re hoping to find a location in that part of the city. While we continue to look for a permanent Sunday worship location we’ve been gathering creatively in a variety of ways – open house Sundays at the HUB, community groups in homes, all together for Easter Sunday downtown, etc… The best way to know where we’ll be on Sundays is to check our social media @epicvineyard or get on our email list. (email@example.com) We’re hopeful we’ll resume gathering for regular Sundays all together very soon!
In our Sunday worship gatherings you can always anticipate hearing from lots of different voices, prioritizing kids participation, experiencing heart worship, keeping the Table of Jesus central to our gathering, and leaning into the Holy Spirit to shape us as we grow as Christ’s disciples.
And We Keep Growing.
Many people have discovered us online during the pandemic and found their church home. It’s been especially fun to eventually meet new folks in person at a backyard firepit, or on a walk, or at a special event and discover they look ‘the same, but different’ than on zoom!
Since we opened our Hub in Tuxedo Park at the end of 2021 we’ve had many more opportunities to get to know newer folks in person.
We’re still looking for a Sunday gathering place, as the Hub isn’t a big enough facility to accommodate our whole church community at once. Stay tuned to our socials or get on our email list to be in the know were we are each Sunday and when we find a permanent gathering place.
No matter our location, all our Sundays start with real good coffee (honest!), and include sung worship, communion, teaching and prayer.
JLYS (Jesus Loves You Society)
JLYS is a non-profit family centre, supporting single moms and their kids who struggle financially in Calgary. Many people in our church serve as part of the weekly team at JLYS. Daniel Schuster is the director of JLYS, and he was also one of the founding pastors of Epic. This has been a primary place Epic folks intentionally connect with marginalized people in Calgary, building community and sharing the love of Jesus. Susan Brandt, one of our partners in mission, is part of the staff team at JLYS and it is a joy for us to support her in her vocational work.
As a church community we value sharing our financial resources as part of our worship. It’s how we are able to support our partners in mission, pay our staff for their valuable work, creatively care for our kids and youth, enjoy good coffee on Sundays, and so much more.
